1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how Memento Research ("Memento Research", "we", "us", or "our") handles personal data in connection with our website at https://mementoresearch.com and our research activities (collectively, the "Service").
Memento Research is a research and content business. We publish crypto and Web3 research, and we assist protocols and other organisations in publishing and distributing their research. We are committed to handling personal data responsibly and in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 ("PDPA").
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, you can contact our Data Protection Officer using the details in Section 11.
2. The Limited Personal Data We Handle
We do not operate user accounts, and we do not collect personal data from visitors beyond what is described below. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data, and we do not collect payment card details through our website.
The limited personal data we may handle includes:
- Contact and correspondence data. If you email us or otherwise get in touch — for example, an enquiry, a research submission, or a business request — we receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
- Business contact data. Where we work with protocols, clients, or partners, we hold the business contact details (such as names and email addresses) of the individuals we deal with at those organisations.
- Website technical data. When you visit our website, our hosting provider and any analytics tools we use may automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages viewed. This is used to operate and secure the site.
3. How We Use Personal Data
We use personal data only for purposes reasonable in the circumstances, including to:
- respond to enquiries, requests, and correspondence;
- deliver and administer research services for clients and partners;
- operate, maintain, and secure our website;
- send communications you have asked for or consented to (you can opt out at any time); and
- comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
We will seek your consent where required by the PDPA, and you may withdraw consent at any time by contacting our DPO (subject to legal or contractual restrictions, and reasonable notice).
4. Cookies and Analytics
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies, including those set by third-party analytics providers, to understand site usage and improve performance. You can usually configure your browser to refuse cookies; if you do, some parts of the site may not function as intended.
5. Disclosure of Personal Data
We do not sell personal data. We may disclose personal data to:
- Service providers who support our operations (such as website hosting, email, and analytics providers), who are permitted to use the data only to provide services to us;
- Authorities or other parties where we are required or permitted to do so by law, or to protect our legal rights; and
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or similar transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
6. Transfers Outside Singapore
Some of our service providers (such as hosting or analytics tools) may store or process data outside Singapore. Where we transfer personal data overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives a standard of protection comparable to that under the PDPA.
7. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, or as required to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When personal data is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymise it.
8. Security
We implement reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, use, disclosure, or loss. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Under the PDPA, you may:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you and information on how it has been used or disclosed; and
- Request correction of personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
To make a request, contact our DPO using the details in Section 11. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the timeframe required by law.
10. Third-Party Links
Our research and website may contain links to third-party websites and platforms (including, for example, Telegram, Substack, and X). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
11. Data Protection Officer and Contact
Memento Research Pte. Ltd. has appointed a Data Protection Officer ("DPO") responsible for overseeing our compliance with the PDPA. For any questions, access or correction requests, or complaints regarding your personal data, please contact:
